On a radio show earlier today, free agent reliever Jason Isringhausen said he will pitch for the Reds at some point tomorrow. Isringhausen added that he and his agent have been in contact with the Cardinals, Yankees, and Rays. Isringhausen amassed 217 saves in his seven seasons for the Cardinals from 2002-2008. Isringhausen’s last stint in the majors was with the Tampa Bay Organization. For his career Izzy has a 3.61 ERA 749k’s and 293 saves. He’s coming back from Tommy John surgery and said he’s currently throwing three times a week and working on a new pitch.
Do we want him here in Cincinnati? Someone who dominated us for many a National League Central contests.. I don’t know about you but if he can pitch anywhere near the way he did for the Cardinals as their closer prior to elbow problems I’d love to sign him. If they do sign him then you have to give a ton of props to Jocketty for putting together a quality team without giving anything up. He could possibly be the Right handed version of Sir Arthur Rhodes we’ve been looking for this season!!!
